Agoura Hills, CA (Dec 1, 2006) – The Hagstrom Swede can be found in the hands of some of rock’s most original performers including Ben Curtis of the Secret Machines, Aaron McLain of the Marc Anthony Band, and Cameron Keym of The Sleeping. Renowned for its powerful and responsive tone and incredible playability, the Hagstrom Swede is becoming the go-to guitar for a new generation of guitar players who merge the soloing flair of the 80’s with the rhythm and tone awareness off the 90’s.
Hagstrom’s Swede models are on display for the NAMM show audience at Booth #5700 in the Anaheim Convention Center, January 18-21, 2008.
Ben Curtis is the lead guitarist of one of the industry’s most highly respected new band, the Secret Machines. Receiving rave reviews from fans across the united states, the music press, and their peers including Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters, Ben Curtis has crafted a totally unique sound for the Secret Machines using his Hagstrom Guitars. “The White Swede is the most amazing guitar in the world,” states Ben. “As a 3-piece, I have to generate much of the sound space and the guitar does an amazing job. It has a huge, yet articulate sound, and the neck is crazy. It plays like butter. I’ve been a Hagstrom player for years, the really are the best guitars on the market.”
Aaron McLain, guitarist from the Marc Anthony Band, has one of the most demanding jobs in the business. “We tour all over the world continuously playing places like Peru, Venezuela, Puerto Rico and more,” says Aaron. “My Hagstrom is totally consistent and reliable. The “H” shaped truss rod really keeps the neck solid and straight. The tone that I get from this guitar through my Framus amps just kills! I’ve never heard anything else like it. I love these guitars!”
Cameron Keym of the Sleeping is using his Mahogany Swede on the Nintendo Fusion Tour headlined by Hawthorne Heights. “My tone goes from a good crunch to crushing distortion and the Swede’s pickups deliver these sounds perfectly.”
Lead guitarists across America are discovering the revolutionary Hagstrom neck. Hagstrom’s reputation for the “fastest neck on the planet” comes from the combination of two factors. The exclusive Resinator Fretboard, an extraordinary, homogeneous wood composite that maintains a strong fundamental harmonic and offers silky smooth, reliable, and fast playability. The innovative H-Expander Truss Rod is an I-beam or “H” shaped truss rod that is much stronger than the traditional truss rod and allows the action to be set at any height, even very low, and ensures decades of reliability.
The Hagstrom Swede model also features a 24.75” scale length neck, 45mm Mahogany Body with 10mm Carved Mahogany Top, Set Mahogany Neck, two Hagstrom Custom 58 humbuckers, Long Travel Tune-O-Matic with Hagstrom Stop Tail Piece and 6 Individual Brass String Blocks, 3-Way Tone Filter Toggle, and 18:1 ratio custom Hagstrom tuning keys guarantee accurate and stable tuning.
The Swede comes in Wild Cherry Transparent, Black Gloss, Natural Mahogany Gloss, White, and Gold Top finishes.
Hagstrom once estimated that some 800,000 musicians had played their guitars, including Elvis Presley, Frank Zappa, Bjorn Ulveus (ABBA), Bryan Ferry (Roxy Music), David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and Noel Redding, Steve Hackett and Mike Rutherford (Genesis). Current aficionados include the Foo Fighters, Panic! At the Disco, All-American Rejects, Franz Ferdinand, The Secret Machines, and many others.
